AJM United were one of the first major structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) contractors onsite, and played a large role on the St Marys Water Recycling Plant’s reliability and renewal works. ZERO Harm to all and the environment, meeting a high quality finish. Multiple different processing plants each requiring specialised installation, each serving a vital part of the overall operation of the facility.

Scope of Works:

• Supply, Engineering, Manufacturing, Protective Coatings, Delivery of Structural Steel & Piping in Mild and Stainless Steel Materials.
• Transport of Goods
• Installation:
• Structural Steel, Building, Platforms, stairs, and miscellaneous pipe supports for small and large bore
• SS316 Launders, Troughs, Scum Boxes, Stop Boards, Discharge & Bypass Weirs,
• Mechanical Equipment
• Piping in Stainless 316SS, PVC-U, PE and ABS non-metallic piping and fittings
• Double Containment Chemical Piping lines using propriety products from GF and Vinidex
• Ductile Iron rubber and concrete lined installation
• Removal of Old Assets and Installation of New “Like for Like”
• Modifications to existing Sydney Water Assets, shutdown works to Tie in new assets into the existing lines and systems.
• Pre and Dry Commissioning of newly installed and refurbished SW assets.

On Contract Award from UGL/SW our first goal was to prove AJM United as reliable subcontractor with extensive experience in the Water Industry and as the go to subcontractor on the project. The challenge was always to provide the best and most efficient products and services competitively and within the budget.GC21 contract, this project required precise planning and coordination between AJM United manufacturing Shop and onsite installation teams. AJM United had two project management teams for offsite and onsite.

We assigned a project team which consisted of Project Managers & Engineers, Quality and Safety Personnel and Site Managers. Each Area had a dedicated team to ensure compliance to SW technical standards and the required verifying evidence to demonstrate to UGL & SW conformity.

The project included large scale scaffolding and cranes establishment as part of the coordination and planning.It required highly experienced personnel who had a comprehensive understanding in Water Infrastructure projects and more important who understand Sydney Water technical standards. AJM United has been working with SW for years and has long term employees whose only project are for SW. AJM United had a dedicated drawing team who had the responsibility of producing drawings and isometrics. It was a challenging task as we only had the BIM model and GA engineering drawings as reference. Our Detailers use the latest drawings software to ensure accuracy in details. One of the main factors to our project success is drawing control, we say if the job starts well it tends to finish successful.

Some projects required AJM to use its specialised surveyors, engineers and tradesmen to site measure and sketch, and all collectively agree on the most efficient way to build. All factors of the build are considered in the drawing stage of the project. From ground up to dry commissioning, AJM United delivered with excellence. A Job well done by All involved.
