Million Ounce Gold Plant Upgrade Project

All works associated with upgrading the existing facility to produce one million ounces of gold per year and more specifically the following elements.

Supply, Fabrication, Welding, Protective Coatings, Transport by Shipping, Site Installation, Inspection, Testing, Commissioning, Structural Steel, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, & Including Minor Civil Works for the:

Pressure Oxidation Buling – Autoclave

This contract consisted of fabrication and installation of various types of exotic piping system. The works had to be completed to the highest of quality and safety standards. Included in the scope was the installation of Oxygen piping system to the Australian Gas code AIGA 012/04. Others type of systems included Titanium welding, super duplex and Monel.

Pressure Oxidation Structural, Mechanical & Piping:

(CS, SS, Super Duplex, Titanium, Cement Lined, Rubber Lined, GRP, HDPE)

Structural, mechanic and piping, cladding, installation works for biggest Autoclave in the world. The works were complicated and included installation of 60t vessels, tanks, two large GEO pumps weighing 20t each, ducting installation, travelling cranes, interstate screens, and many other types of mechanical equipment. The works included testing and pre commissioning to Newcrest and international standards.

SMP Installation of crusher and overland conveyors, and IPS Interim Power Supply:

The works included installation of two 80t Rom hoppers, jaw crushers, job cranes, primary crushing systems, apron feeders, pumps, conveyors & installation of the support structures and towers. This work had to be completed within a tight 6 week schedule. The project manning peaked at 80 employees, various trades and skills

NCA1: CIL Processing Plant:

Construction of three CIL tanks, 14m in diameter carbon steel approximately 15 meters in height, including superstructures & platforms, installation of associated component, mechanical, piping electrical & instrumentation, testing and stage 1 commissioning.

Pebble crushing, grinding, ore reclaim & classification – Ball & sag mills:

Pebble Crushing, Grinding, Ore reclaim & Classification: Installation of Ball & Sag Mills, SMP supply & Installation, testing and commissioning. This contract consisted of structural, mechanic and piping installation works, removal of existing plant & refurbishment. The scope was complex and included a ball and sag mill installation, heavy lifts over 60t requiring detailed lift studies prepared by me for engineering approval. At the peak man power for the project reach to 200 employees, various expertise, employed local, from the Philippines and Australia

Interim Power Station:

Installation of structural, mechanical, Piping, testing and commissioning, the scope included civil works. The Interim power station is a floating barge built in Thailand and shipped to Lihir. Responsible for the on land installation and connection, installation of gantries from land to floating power station, piping, mechanical & structural and testing and commissioning.
